Maintenance & Tune-Up

Professional maintenance & tune-up by Cooper Family Garage Doors.

A garage door maintenance and tune-up is a head-to-toe service where we inspect, adjust, and lubricate every moving part on your door and opener so small issues get caught before they turn into a 6 a.m. "the door won't open and my car's stuck inside" phone call. Most Southern California homeowners should have it done once a year — the heat, the dust coming off the 91 and the 15, and the salt air drifting inland all wear parts out faster than folks expect.

Warning Signs

Your door usually tells you it needs attention long before it quits. If any of these sound familiar, it's time for a tune-up:

How We Handle It

When Kimber books the appointment, we give you a real two-hour window — not a whole day of waiting around. On site, we go through the full door: springs, cables, rollers, hinges, track alignment, opener travel, safety sensors, and the force settings. We tighten what's loose, lubricate what's dry, balance the door by hand, and show you anything that's close to failing so you get to decide what to do — no pressure, no upsell theater. If we can fix something small right then with parts on the truck, we will, and we'll quote it before we touch it.

Cooper Family Garage Doors is licensed, bonded, and insured under CSLB #1153364. Craig does most of the service calls himself across Orange County and most of the Inland Empire, including San Clemente, Laguna, Huntington Beach, Coto de Caza, Irvine, Anaheim, Claremont, Rancho Cucamonga, Corona, Eastvale, Riverside, Lake Elsinore, and all the neighborhoods in between, so the person inspecting your door is the same person whose name is on the truck. We only install parts we'd put on our own house — nylon-coated rollers, USA-made torsion springs, and name-brand opener components.

A good tune-up is honestly one of the cheapest pieces of home maintenance you can buy, and it's the difference between a door that lasts fifteen years and one that strands you in three. If something doesn't feel right with yours, let us take a look — we'll tell you straight whether it needs work now or can wait.

Questions

Frequently Asked

How much does a garage door tune-up cost in Southern California?
Most standard single- or double-door tune-ups run between $89 and $149, depending on the door size and whether lubricant and minor hardware are included. If we find something that needs replacing, we quote it up front before doing any extra work.
How long does a maintenance visit take?
A typical tune-up takes about 45 minutes to an hour per door. If we end up replacing rollers, hinges, or adjusting springs during the visit, plan on a little longer — but we'll let you know before we start.
Do you warranty the parts and labor?
Yes. Any parts we install during the tune-up are covered for at least one year, and our labor is guaranteed — if something we touched isn't working right, we come back and make it right at no charge.
