Santa Ana has a character you don't find in the newer parts of the county. The bungalows and stucco homes from the 1940s through the 1960s make up most of the residential stock — Floral Park, French Park, and the neighborhoods near downtown are full of them. Single-car garages are common on these older properties, and the hardware is often original or close to it. Springs that were installed in the 1980s are 40-plus years old now. When those go, they go suddenly. Cables that are frayed on one end are already failing. We also work on some of the newer condo developments near downtown that have been built in the last decade, where garage door issues can hold up sales or HOA clearances. The mix of eras means we need to be prepared for anything, and we are.
Spring replacements are the most common call in Santa Ana — on older homes with hardware this age, it's not unusual to find springs that are cracked, stretched, or completely broken. We also handle cable replacements, opener installs and repairs, track work, roller replacements, and full door installations. For homes where you want to upgrade from an old steel or wood door that's warped and heavy, we can install a modern insulated steel door that's lighter on the springs and more energy-efficient.
