Local garage door service from Cooper Family Garage Doors.
I'm Craig Cooper. My wife Kimber and I run Cooper Family Garage Doors, and La Habra is part of our regular route — sitting right at the LA/Orange County border, it's a natural stop as we move between areas. We've serviced plenty of homes here, from the older tracts near the city center to the more recent neighborhoods near the hills. CSLB license #1153364. Call (909) 766-9426.
La Habra is classic post-war Southern California suburban development. The bulk of the housing stock was built in the 1950s through the 1970s — single-family tract homes on flat lots, mostly attached garages, a mix of single-car and two-car setups from original construction. The flat terrain is actually one of the easier things about working here — there's no grade to deal with, installs are straightforward, and spring tension calculations are standard. What's less straightforward is the age of the hardware. On a home built in 1960 or 1965, the garage door setup has probably been changed once or twice, but you still find original springs occasionally, or springs that were replaced in the 1980s and never touched again. Those are long past their service life. I've also seen a fair number of detached garages in La Habra's older neighborhoods — older wood structures with converted hardware — and those come with their own quirks.
The most common calls from La Habra are spring replacements and opener upgrades. A lot of the openers in these older homes are chain-drive models from the 1990s that are loud, slow, and starting to fail. Swapping to a LiftMaster belt-drive or a jackshaft unit makes a real difference in daily usability and reliability. We also handle cable replacements, track and roller work, full door replacements, and annual tune-ups. If your door is shaking or grinding or only opens partway, give us a call — those symptoms have specific causes and most of them are fixable in a single visit.
We don't run a call center and we don't send strangers. When you call Kimber, she schedules me directly. I show up, assess the problem honestly, and give you a price before I start. No bait-and-switch, no upsells on parts you don't need. USA-made torsion springs, LiftMaster openers, CSLB #1153364. The business runs on repeat customers and referrals, and that requires doing the job right the first time.
Monday through Saturday, 7:30am to 7:30pm. Give us a call at (909) 766-9426.
