I'm Craig Cooper. My wife Kimber and I run Cooper Family Garage Doors, and Lake Forest is a regular stop between Irvine and the south OC communities. The city covers a range of construction eras — older El Toro-area neighborhoods from the 1970s and 1980s alongside newer developments like Portola Hills and Baker Ranch. Lake Forest was incorporated in 1991 from the former El Toro area, so the city boundaries include neighborhoods from multiple development eras. The older El Toro communities near El Toro Road and the Trabuco Road corridor have 1970s–1980s construction — homes with two-car attached garages, older hardware that's in its second or third replacement cycle. Portola Hills in the northeast corner of the city has a newer, more upscale feel with larger homes and more substantial garage setups. Baker Ranch, the newest master-planned community in Lake Forest, was developed in the 2010s with very current hardware that's just starting to see its first service needs. The variety means we need to show up equipped for anything from a 40-year-old spring system to a 10-year-old opener that needs a firmware update.
Spring replacements, opener repairs and installs, cable replacements, and full door installations. For the older El Toro neighborhoods with hardware from the '70s or '80s, we often find spring systems that have been replaced once or twice with non-standard configurations — we assess what's there and give you the honest story on what needs to be done. For Portola Hills and Baker Ranch, the work is more current and usually a cleaner swap. We stock hardware across the full range and can finish most jobs same-day.
